ABOLITION IS GO!

Posted 15 June 2010 | Abolition

Why is Mike Klassen making announcements on the SKG website you say?  Well, as some of you may know, I’m directing a film called Abolition, written by Chris Lawson and myself.  As things progressed it became clear to Jason (Armstrong) and I that a merger of some sort was the obvious next step.   So I’m closing up shop at Homeless Entertainment and have now set up camp at SKG.

Andrew Roth is "Joshua" in Mike Klassen's upcoming thriller, Abolition.

From now on, Abolition, Bitter, 48 Hours in Purgatory and a few other projects we have coming down the line, will all be under one happy family!  All the news that’s fit to “print” will turn up right here!

I’m proud, happy and excited to be part of the SKG family and cannot wait to for you to see what we’re cooking up next!

OK, so there’s that update. Then of course, Abolition. What is it about? Here’s a brief description (don’t wanna give too much away!):

Abolition draws from the horror genre, specifically the supernatural side of it, though at it’s core it’s a dramatic film with vibrant, real characters.

Elissa Dowling is "Mia" in Abolition

Follow Joshua (played by Andrew Roth) and Mia (Elissa Dowling) as they help us to consider the question:  What if your next door neighbour was the end of the world?

Pre-production begins in two weeks!  We have two months of pre-production and our first day of principal photography is September 1st.  Shooting wraps September 18th, followed by a 28 week post schedule.

The film is set to be completed in May of 2011.

That’s Abolition in a nutshell.  A ton more updates will be coming your way – amazing cast announcements, crew updates, artwork, and the now-legendary actor Q&A’s – so stick to this channel for all your SKG news!

I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to make this film with the people around me and the cast we have attached.  I know this film will be something special.
